Georgetown: A Rising Hub for Senior Living in the Heart of Texas

Georgetown was founded in 1875, and is the county seat of Williamson County, Texas. It is roughly 30 miles north of the state’s capital city, Austin. As of 2023, the estimated population of Georgetown was 92,161 and it’s been listed as one the fastest growing cities with over 50,000 in population.

Georgetown has also been listed as one of the top U.S. retirement destinations. Like much of central and south Texas, it has a predominately warm climate and is a suburb of a major metropolitan city (Austin). This Central Texas town has seen an ever-increasing growth in its’ senior population, primarily due to Sun City Texas, which started development in 1995. Currently, there are roughly 16,000 residents there (and growing), so the support and infrastructure continue to expand.
